Welcome to the Kommunales Kino guckloch Villingen-Schwenningen e.V.
The guckloch Kino is a cine club situated in a little town in the Black Forest (Germany) named Villingen-Schwenningen.
Our community-cinema was founded in 1977 thanks to some enthusiastic people who have the same great passion: a love for moving pictures on the big screen.
We generally screen films wich are off the mainstream cinema from different countries in their original language with subtitles. Our programming includes shortfilms, documentary, experimental and other arthouse films. Quarterly we're presenting a series of films on a main focus (Schwerpunkt). Further we offer a children's program too.
We present our program in our cine magazine "Gaffer" (German for gazer/gawper/gawker).
All the colleagues work for our cinema on a voluntary/honorary basis. Further we cooperate with local institutions like, e.g. Volkshochschule (VHS), the german adult education center.
We are proud to present people from our region and from all over the world in our little cinema. We invite artists, directors, actors, experts, speakers etc. We had some famous guests i.e. Nico Hofmann, Roland Suso Richter, Ralf Huettner, Wolfgang Becker, Tom Tykwer, Peter Lilienthal, Margarethe von Trotta, Doris Dörrie, Daniel Schmid, Krzysztof Zanussi, Ken Loach and others.
We have another cinema auditorium in Donaueschingen (guckloch im CINEMA) and a partner cinema in Titisee-Neustadt (Krone Theater). Sometimes we cooperate with other arthouse cinemas in the region.
We are pleased about your visit.
Best regards
the guckloch team
